We are looking for a dynamic skilled Mechanical Inspector to join our Quality/Inspection department at T&G Engineering. Your responsibilities will include Inspecting precision components manufactured on our shop floor using our latest CMM’s and conventional metrology methods.
Key Responsibilities: –
- Perform first off, in-process and final inspection using CMM’s and conventional metrology methods.
- Carry out final inspection of parts as per customer requirements i.e. FAIR’s, Dimensional Reports, CMM Reports or CDR’s.
- You will be expected to read technical drawings and understand GD&T, control plans, and specifications to understand the requirements for manufacturing complex components.
- You will be expected to have extensive knowledge of conventional metrology methods including the use of Micrometres, Vernier Callipers, plug Gauges etc.
- You will be expected to have knowledge of CMM’s Programming and using existing programs.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizes re-work and waste, and inputs data into our quality database.
- Ensure all the correct documents as per customer requirements are forwarded to despatch department.
- Communicate with machine programmers, setters, operators, shopfloor supervisors and production manager to ensure our high-quality standards are maintained.
Requirements: –
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role is required.
- Good Literacy and IT Skills Including Excel, Microsoft word and ERP or MRP systems would be an advantage.
- FAIR/CDR knowledge required.
- Extensive knowledge of conventional metrology methods is a critical requirement for this role.
- Good knowledge and experience in programming the latest CMM’s would be an advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where general helpfulness and Flexibility are essential attributes for this role.
Full time hours are 39 hours per week Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.00pm (1/2-hour lunch break) and Friday 7.30am to 2.30pm (No lunch break).
Overtime during the week and on Saturday’s are paid at time and a half. A competitive hourly rate of pay will be paid based upon experience, holiday entitlement is currently 23 days per annum, in addition you will be entitled to the English public/bank holidays.
